Discover the cradle of the modern stock, futures and options trade, and the events that lead to the World's first major Crash: Tulipomania. On our Financial History walking tour you get to know the rich financial history of Amsterdam, and its impact on global Finance.

On this two hour walk, you get to see:
  • The offices of the Dutch East Indies Company, the World's first company to give out stock;
  • The locations where these first stocks were traded, before the actual stock exchange was built;
  • The present and former buildings of the World's oldest stock exchange;
  • The location of the Amsterdam Wisselbank, the World's first, modern central bank;
  • The Stadsbank van Lening, since 1614 one of the World's oldest still functioning non-profit pawnbrokers;
  • The offices of the former Hope & Co. Bank, a bank of international fame for over 2 and a half centuries.

It's up to you to decide at what time you want to start your walking tour, provided that its ends before 1 PM, or starts after 2 PM, so our guide can do another tour that day.
